FAQ
Questions about the Live Mentorship access option
How long is the program?
Our new Clinic Immersion 2.0 programs follow a monthly subscription model. You may join us and leave the program when you decide.
Our 2.0 LIVE program does have a minimum subscription of 3 months. The live events will follow our clinic calendar with breaks for holiday weeks. We do highlight specific portions of our Topic Library materials at regular intervals. While you will have access to our full Topic Library upon enrollment and without restriction, our content is extensive and it takes 12 months to highlight all of the material.
Who is eligible to apply to the Clinic Immersion 2.0 LIVE option?
Acceptance into either Clinic Immersion program is by application only. Applicants must be practicing or student professionals: ND, MD, DO, PA, NP, DC, LAc, RN, CNS, CCN, PharmD, RD, IFNCP. Have completed at least basic level functional medicine training. We will not, for example, be doing didactic reviews of biochemistry that relate to common chronic conditions, although pieces will come up in the application of interventions. Submit the appropriate application materials (including CV and cover letter) HERE.
Can I apply to the 2.0 LIVE program if I am not based in the U.S.?
Yes, our programs are all delivered online via webinar, online portal, and emails. Our sessions are held primarily during business hours Eastern Time. Each live session including Clinic Rounds and Teach-ins are recorded and accessible if your time zone or schedule prevents you from joining live. Several present and past participants have gone through our program from various locations around the world.
When will I hear back about my application?
Your application will be processed within 7-10 business days.
How much time will I need to dedicate to the program?
Past participants say they spend between 1-5 hours a week. There is no obligation, of course, and if you miss a week you can just jump back in the following week. However, the more time you put into it the more you will get out of it. Meetings are recorded so if you can’t join live you can watch or listen to the recordings later.
Is membership to the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) required to enroll in the program?
Membership is not required to enroll in the program. Thanks to our IFM Educational Collaboration, joining our programs will provide you with a $100 discount on a 1-year IFM membership with access to the IFM Tool Kit. If you already have an IFM membership, you may use the coupon for a 1-year extension.
Is the Functional Medicine Clinic Immersion appropriate for someone who is seeking IFM certification?
The Functional Medicine Clinic Immersion is built on the foundation of IFM training. We recommend at least completing AFMCP and being in progress with the IFM’s Advanced Practice Modules to get the most out of the experience. However, you do not need to be seeking IFM certification or have completed the advanced training modules to be eligible to apply.
Will I be able to get help with my current patient cases?
You’ll have access to our private online forum where you’re encouraged to post your cases and ask questions. The group, including our clinic staff, can provide feedback and support. Private 1-1 mentorship sessions are available exclusively to Clinic Immersion 2.0 LIVE members at an additional cost.
Do participants receive a certification or CE credits?
At this time, participation in our programs does not provide continuing education credits or a certification. Part of the reason for this is our deliberate intention to be open about the supplements and labs we are using so that we can discuss and share fully. These are excluded from other CE-approved content.
Who can I contact if I have more questions about the program?
Please email your questions to ProEd@DrKaraFitzgerald.com to get your questions answered by a member of our clinic team. If needed, we can schedule a brief phone conversation.
