Free Teach-In with Dr. Tom Sult – Tick-Borne Disease

Teach-Ins continue to be a favorite component of our educational programs for clinicians. These are often unscripted (and unpolished!), open dialogues where participants get to engage live with experts in their field. We find this the most effective way to allow for active community engagement and frank, real-world discussions.

In this Teach-in, fellow IFM faculty member, Dr. Tom Sult, shares with me and the Clinic Immersion program participants his expertise on the complex and frequently-encountered collective of Tick-Borne Diseases.

Dr. Sult’s honest ‘reality check’ when it comes to treating complex chronic Lyme disease and coinfections is refreshing and humbling. In one of my favorite highlights, he explains the need for us to get comfortable with uncertainty in managing these often challenging cases – “get comfortable with being uncomfortable.” He demonstrates how by leaning heavily on the Functional Medicine Matrix and individual presentation, practitioners and patients can work together to make progress. And yes, you’ll hear clinical pearls for assessment, his go-to nutraceutical interventions, and many more tools for working with patients around the matrix.
